Tata is going to showcase the country's first wheel armoured amphibious infantry combat vehicle. It can also travel on both land and water. It will showcase the upcoming vehicle at BIMSTEC Nations Summit 2018 in Pune. Entitled as the WhAP8x8, the vehicle is jointly developed with the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Tata has worked with Indian Armed Forces and claims to have supplied over 1.5 lakh vehicles to Indian military, paramilitary forces, and police establishments.
The vehicle also provides many safety features like Ballistic Protection and NBC protection, Blast protection. WhAP8x8 has the seating capacity of
10+2 people and comes in various variants such as Armoured Fighting vehicles, CBRN vehicle, Recce & Support vehicle, Medical Evacuation vehicle, Engineer Squad vehicle, Mortar Carrier, Commander’s vehicle and Anti-Tank Guided Missile vehicle.

along with WhAP8x8, Tata may also showcase its Mine Protected Vehicle (MPV) with 4x4 Configuration which is developed to serve as a mine-proof troop transport vehicle with enhanced ground clearance for enhanced cross-country mobility. Tata motors future project will be for major military vehicle supply with BIMSTEC Nations which include Tata Xenon GS 800 to Myanmar, Tata Mine Protected Vehicles for UNIFIL, MONUSCO & MALI Missions, Tata 2.5T GS LPTA 715 4x4 to Myanmar and Thailand, Tata 5T GS LPTA 1628 4x4 to Nepal and Missio specific logistic vehicles for UN Peacekeeping mission sent by these Nations.
